I've read books all my life, but just recently I got obsessed and nowadays I read daily. Contemporary, Romance, New Adult and Young Adult are my favorite genres.
I just want to hug this book, squeal out loud and kiss Colleen Hoover for writing this amazingly amazing book! This was one of those books that you like right from the beginning. I knew after the first chapter that I would love this book.
Hoover's style of writing is unbelievable. Reading this was addicting and so so beautiful. I felt a range of emotions and I want to quote the whole book, but here's a couple:
"Whether it's tomorrow night or next year, I can promise you it'll be the best damn night of my life. You just make sure you're making that decision for yourself and no one else, okay? I'll always want you , but I'm not going to let myself have you until you're one hundred percent sure you want me just as much. And don't say anything right now. I'm turning around and walking back to my car and we can pretend this conversation never happened. Otherwise, you may never stop blushing."
"It's what happens when two people become one: they no longer share only love. They also share all the pain, heartache, sorrow and grief."
"I'm not going to wish for a perfect life. The things that knock you down in life are tests, forcing you to make a choice between giving in and remaining on the ground or wiping the dirt off an standing up even taller than you did before you were knocked down. I'm choosing to stand up taller."
And not only these, but all the playing around with words. For example, the word Hopeless. It has so much meaning. And the word "live", aaaww.
I liked how the Prologue was a little bit misleading. The beginning of the book was so lighthearted and sweet. Sky and Holder were just so cute together. And then it all turned completely around and these awful things started to happen. As I said, this book takes you through so many emotions.
This book was perfect. Well, almost. Sometimes I think Holder was maybe too perfect. He always said and did exactly the right things. But maybe that's the reason why this book is so perfect and that's also why Holder is now officially my book boyfriend.
I can't wait for October to come around, so that I can get my hands on Losing Hope. Fortunately, I already own the first two books in the Slammed series, so that I can continue reading Hoover's beautiful words.
